Texture and Pattern Pictures from Paris

Some pictures I took while in Paris. It would be helpful if I were a better photographer and there would be more if cathedrals weren't so persnickety about using a flash. Some of the pictures are obvious and Bill was kind enough to point out that many of them are pattern and not texture. But I feel like the collection is a good summary of our Parisian adventure. I'll tell you in a future post where all the pictures were taken. Enjoy!

Color Sense Game

I found out about the Color Sense Game from this great blog How About Orange. You answer questions about your personality, taste and senses and the game computes your "Color Personality". Im 'Water Beads' and 'White Spaces'. Sounds nice, but my personal assessment is that I'm WAY more 'Pop Art'. It's nice and bold.

I want to re-paint the bedroom in these colors from the 'Pop Art' collection:

Which is funny because orange and blue are the primary colors of this blog. Hmmm.

What is your color personality?

Why Didn't I Think of This?

Loli Love turned me on to the website for CityClips. A brilliant invention for any woman whose commute to work involves walking. The product is a magnetic clip that women can use to temporarily hem their pant leg while wearing flats, and then undo the clip to change in to heels. Not only is this a great idea, but I have total admiration for anyone who starts their own business, especially at such a young age ("twentysomething"). I also love supporting creativity and hand-made products.

I love these star clips...

Louisville Design Star

I love HGTV's Design Star series and the new season starts on Sunday. Dee just told me that a Louisville designer is on Season 3. Bravo!

Tracee Dore is a Michigan native who received a degree in Interior Design at UK and owns Tracee Dore & Company in Louisville. Check her out!

World's Most Expensive Home

From Forbes via Apartment Therapy (again).

Check out the Forbes article to see pictures of this "home" in Mumbai. Apparently the 22-story tower the Ambani's live in now just wasn't cutting it. Back story: Mukesh Ambani is head of the Mumbai, India-based petrochemical giant Reliance Industries, and is the fifth richest man in the world. No kidding. His wife's name is Nita.

Sex And The City Set Design

An email from Apartment Therapy led me to the current issue of Traditional Home magazine which has an article on the set design for the SATC movie. Apparently the article explains how the design "evolved" with the characters over the last four years. I'll have to pick up a copy. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think I'm more excited to see the set than the fashion!

I also caught this from HBO while reading some of the press leading up to the release last week. You can check out photo tours of each character's digs from the series. I love it.
