Map Update Part 2

Dee reminded me tonight that I've actually been to Utah! We did a Four Corners trip when I was in middle school and drove all around Monument Valley. 39 States! Not too shabby!

Map Update...

Dee reminded me that it's time to update the ole' state map. I've been to 38 states. My gaps are pretty obvious. And Maine. Still Maine! What about you?

I wasn't sure what to do about China. I've been to Hong Kong, now part of China, but it was independent in 1996 when I visited. I know it looks odd that I've been to North Korea. Bit of a long story, but it has to do with my brother being stationed at the DMZ and our family visit to Korea.

The Sound

I'm headed to the Sound this weekend. The Long Island Sound. Girls trip to Connecticut with the Aunts and cousins to visit the Yankee contingent of our family. I'm gonna snuggle with the newest addition to the family (who has the best name ever), drop my 'R's and maybe even dig for some of these.

The Waddy

I forgot... another highlight of our trip East. Driving past the Waddy Peytona sign. Come to find out, Waddy and Peytona are actually two different towns on either side of I-64 in between Louisville and Lexington. This sign always makes me giggle.

We Made It!

Yesterday, Jefe and I drove Betty from Louisville to DC packed to the gills with our remaining wedding gifts. We also nabbed some great stuff from my parents basement including the bamboo kitchen chairs that belonged to my Grandmother Ann. Not only did we not have any hiccups on the road, we got the best parking spot EVER near our apartment. The only problem now is that I don't want to move the car!

We took the southern route yesterday through West Virginia and Virgina and decided to stop in Lexington, VA for lunch. We drove around the VMI and W+L campuses and then took a self-guided 3 block tour of Historic Lexington. Such a sweet little town.

Best part of the trip, however, was discovering the Indigo Girls CD from my high school days in the glove box and making Jefe rock out to Galileo through Eastern Kentucky.

Betty the Jeep

Jefe and I are travelling to Kentucky this weekend and we got one-way tickets because we're driving Betty back to DC! Betty is the '92 two-door baby blue beauty that I helped buy with my babysitting money in high school. She's been in the family since 1999. Hopefully she'll make it the almost 600 miles. Don't worry, we already signed up for AAA just in case.

That's right, 10 years later, I'm gonna have a car in the District. I feel a whole new world opening up to me!

I'll be sure to post some pics once she's in our custody.

Vegas

I just got back from Familypalooza 09 in Las Vegas where we had a lot of fun AND I took some texture pictures.

My favorite scene in Vegas was the Parasol Bar at the Wynn. There is a huge pool and a waterfall. The figure out in the water is a sculpture of a man standing in the water, facing the waterfall. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Sometimes it snows in Boston

Pictures from New Years Eve in Boston. There were about 8 inches of snow on the ground. It was really beautiful and REALLY cold!

You could spit on the Massachusetts State House from the rooftop. But of course it would have frozen before it landed anywhere!

Tap the Rockies!
Coors is always better with snow to keep it cool.

Ahh Beacon Hill.

With my new camera, I can write on pictures, just like Ashton Kutcher!

Visited States

How many states have you been to?

I have been to the following states. Damn you Maine!
