1. I completely agree with Lucy. I just can't get behind this. I mean, it seems so obvious that this is a Hollywood set up. Jake has a new movie out and Taylor has a new album out. Please let it end soon!
2. From the Cup of Jo Holiday Gift Guide: I know these are made of silk, but $38! Would you ever pay that much for one? Am I crazy? I think they are adorable, but I also think they would take about about 3 minutes to make. They do take me back to the 5th grade though and funny that they are called the 'Senate' bracelet.

giggle
I'm so excited for our neighbors/besties who just had a baby boy on Saturday. Even better, we get to spend Thanksgiving with the lil' guy. I stopped by giggle (best baby store name ever) the other day to pick up some fun baby items and scored this little striped number. Can't wait to see him in it and snuggle!

Desk Happiness
I bought this little dish at Anthropologie on Sunday and brought it to work for my paper clips. Seems silly, I know, but for $8.00 it's bringing me loads of happiness and a little ikat to my life! I'm obsessed with the gold rim.

Trip to NYC
More updates to come, but here are a few of my favorite purchases from this weekend in NYC. Both dresses are from Madewell, and both on sale!
The Tulum Dress...
and the Fall Forest Dress... I snagged some amazing printer drawers from the Chelsea Flea Market that I'm going to turn into a jewelry case a la...
I got 2 different sized drawers (neither this huge) for $32. They retail on etsy for $98. All I have to do is add the hooks!
Also really feeling my new nail polish 'Merino Cool' by essie.

Piper Lime
I can't wait for my trip to NYC this weekend! I'm dying to update my lack-luster fall wardrobe. I've been so enthralled in decorating though, I haven't been paying much attention to fashion. All I know is that women on the metro are wearing grey nail polish and everyone is talking about jeggings.
I think I'm going to make it easy on myself and just follow the advice of Piper Lime and their Fall Trend Guide.
1. Over-the-knee boots: I prefer these. But I like these too.

2. Military: Love it
3. Lace-Up Boots: Willing to give it a shot. I like the more feminine versions.
5. Skinny Cords: Check

7. Blanket Sweaters: YES YES YES
8. Cuffed Boots: Sooooooo NOT into these.
9. Saddle Bags: You bet

Speaking of the UK...
I was perusing the latest Boden catalogue the other day and really like some of pieces from their collection. Is that lame? Is Boden like the Talbots of GB? Maybe it just feeds my desire to be British. What am I talking about? I've loved Boden forever!
And I LOVE these shoes!

See Jane Work
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Work has been a bit silly and this rain has really got me down! When will it end?
To brighten my day a little, I just bought a new iPhone case. Mine kicked it a few weeks ago when I dropped my phone. Luckily it was the case that took the brunt of the fall and not the phone.
I noticed this little ad in Daily Candy and decided to bite the bullet on this adorable Jonathan Adler (yummy!) case from See Jane Work. With the 30% off discount it was pretty good deal!
Lots of other fun colors too!
Yay for Friday!

Zara Online!
Ahhh! How did I miss this. I have always wished Zara would open up their stores online and now my wish has come true! Wooohooo!
In other news, I had my second sewing class yesterday. I'll post pictures of my new hand-made pajama pants tomorrow. Above is a little pic of my new favorite thing... my tomato pin cushion, complete with emery strawberry. So classic. Tell me this doesn't remind you of rifling through your mother's sewing kit to find scissors (that were totally off-limits). That's right, I'm hardcore.

Stella + Dot
I keep seeing Stella + Dot all over the internet. It looks like a direct sales program like Avon or Arbonne but with jewelry. Does anyone have any experience with them? What's the story?

Rotary Phones
I think I'm probably behind the curve on this one, but I find myself still wanting a vintage rotary phone. I know... soooo 2005. Maybe it's all the Mad Men I've been watching. Here are some I found online.

Linnea Design
I've always noticed these bold prints and calendars, but I never really knew what they were called or who designed them. Finally I looked it up online and found the source! Linnea Design has been making the famous poster calendars since 1987. I think the 2011 calendar is a must have. Perfect for a professional scheduler!

Etsy Favorites
My cousin Nicole and I were talking the other day about how we could spend all day on Etsy. And let's be honest... sometimes I do. I love that you can mark your favorite items and shops and also that Etsy provides recommended shops based on your interest in others. Here are some of my favorites du jour.

Amy Butler at Bed Bath & Beyond
Some of you know that I'm obsessed with Amy Butler fabric. In fact, Mrs. Quigley (the original) made gorgeous table toppers for our wedding out of Amy Butler fabric. You can see a previous Amy Butler post here.
Turns out (via Mrs. Quigley), Amy has a new line at Bed Bath & Beyond. Hooray! I can't wait to go check it out for myself!

Fishs Eddy

Meg V and KT introduced me to Fishs Eddy last fall and it is everything they promised! Fishs Eddy is a NYC establishment that sells dinnerware, flatware, serveware and accessories. I'm pretty obsessed with all of their patterns. KT actually gave me the "Birds on a Wire" cake plate as a gift. It's gorgeous. See above.

I love the memo series. Love me some graph paper!

Floor Plans.

Wouldn't these glove molds be great for displaying necklaces?
