Currently Reading

I just finished reading Reputation by Marjorie Williams and it was, of course, fantastic. I learned a lot about how weird Larry King is, and how contradictory Anna Quindlen is, among many other interesting tales of fascinating people. Read it.

Now I'm on to Curtis Sittenfeld's American Wife. I had no idea it was loosely based on Laura Bush. I'm a little suspect, but it's supposed to be good and I enjoyed Sittenfeld's Prep, so I'm willing to give it a go. I'll keep you posted!

I think I'm in good company...

I did it...

I bit the bullet and got bangs. And I look just like this.  Well, mostly!

Silhouettes

I was perusing this post on Apartment Therapy yesterday and came across these lovely silhouettes in someone's Los Angeles home. The photos caught my eye because I have been wanting to do something very similar in our office. I originally got the idea last summer from the decor at a Barney's COOP store where an entire wall was covered in silhouettes in various colors. I thought it would be fun to do one of each member of the family and I love that this family included their pup. Atty may have to sit for a silhouette portrait soon!

ban.do

I can't even remember where I found this website. DailyCandy maybe? I think these headpieces are so striking. Each is handmade and one of a kind. They also come with their own haiku. And some of you may know... I love haikus.  I think these could even be great as a unique wedding piece or Derby hat alternative? Check them out at www.shopbando.com.

Lucy Actually

Another one bites the dust! My friend Lucy just started her own blog called Lucy Actually. It's fabulous.  Not only is she upset about the fall of Domino, but I love this Pink post too!

Jockeys

I saw an ad for a new show on Animal Planet called Jockeys: Win or Die Trying. Reality television AND horse racing? I'm in.

Check out the preview here:
