Rodey

My second favorite pup Rodey (Jefe's parents' dog).

Holiday Cards

I decided to make holiday cards this year. I made them last year too and was sure this time to learn from my mistakes... who knew that square envelopes require more postage???

This year I tried to make it simple and PaperSource was of course my go-to.

I got lime-green cards, two stamps, dark-green ink and some red stick-on sparkly things per Steph's suggestion. Not the most creative or detailed, but not half-bad either, if I do say so myself.

More Yellow and Grey

Remember the ole' Yellow and Grey post? I was walking through Arhaus in the Mall the other day and ran across this gorgeous thing. It was so yummy I made my Dad wait while I sat in it for a minute.

More Macaroni...

Katherine + New Camera for Christmas = Finally pictures of Macaroni!

Turns out that Goldendoodles are smart like Poodles and ADD like Golden Retreivers and Macaroni is no exception. He knows how to sit, but he sure wont stay there for too long! Apparently Dee and Bill were watching a show on Animal Planet last night about Poodles and Mac couldn't keep his eyes off the television. How wild is that?

Happy New Year!

Macaroni

I didn't exactly do a good job of posting over the Thanksgiving break. I did however, spend a lot of time with my parents' new puppy Macaroni! He's an adorable Goldendoodle. I'll try to find some good pictures to post, but in the mean time, he looks a lot like this...

He's such an angel!

Marimekko

I recently went to my first Marimekko store while visiting KT and Nicky in NYC. A dream come true. The wall of fabric was just as gorgeous as the photo above. If you aren't familiar with Marimekko, you make recognize their very popular print Unikko, seen below.

KT and Nicky used the Ginkgo print (below) to make a piece of wall art that covers a large wall in their new apartment. The best part? The leaves in the print were actually on the ground in NYC while I was there. How apropos! And beautiful.

This cow print (Kevätjuhla) is all over CB2 right now.

And this is my current favorite: Keisarinna. Kind of muted for me. Must be the weather.

Marimekko is a Finnish company founded in 1951. Per wikipedia, Marimekko fabrics were made famous in the United States by Jacqueline Kennedy, who bought eight Marimekko dresses which she wore throughout the 1960 US Presidential campaign.

Perfect.

Yellow and Grey

KT and I have been talking about our love for all things yellow and grey lately. This photo from Design*Sponge really caught my eye. Check out this link to see the rest of the house. I'm in love with the whole thing. Also, Coco + Kelley has an entire Yellow & Grey post!

Ham Man

Nicky sent over these photos of Hamlin the pup. He lives with Merrie and Anne in Maine. Now that's a pup smile that will make your day!

Arghhhhh...

Nat was telling me last night that she has this pirate and parrot mirror hanging in the entrance of her apartment. Amazing. If you stand in front of it just the right way, it looks like you have an eye patch on and a parrot on your shoulder. So clever. You can purchase it online at Design Public.

Bemz - Give your IKEA sofa a new life.

Wow. That KT, I tell you what. She moves to NYC and is EVEN MORE in the know (if that was even possible). She just showed me this fantastic site, www.bemz.com, where you can customize your IKEA furniture. And who hasn't wanted to do that before? And why didn't I think of it?

So of course now I want to customize the Tullsta chair in our bedroom to look like this:

There are so many fabric options!

Jack-O-Lanterns

Here are some fun jack-o-lantern patterns that are especially festive considering Halloween's close proximity to the election.

Design*Sponge

KT introduced me to a blog called Design*Sponge. It's kind of everything I wish this blog were. I love the 'Before and After' section. I like Olga's before and after table, it looks like something that anyone could do with the right supplies and couple hours on a Saturday. Those are my kind of projects.

Crafty Bastards...

I went with Lacy Lace, Meg and KT to the Crafty Bastards show yesterday in Adam's Morgan. And this wasn't your grandma's craft show. All of the booths were fantastic. I could have spent $300 in about 5 min. I thankfully had the strength to resist, but I did buy myself a little gift in the form of a paper airplane necklace. It was one of the first things I saw, and after we had walked through the whole show, I was still thinking about it. The best part... I bought it from a booth called "Finch Metal". How apropos!

I thought it was really silly and fun. I'm in love. You can visit the site at www.finchmetal.com.

I collected lots of cards from the show, so I'll be sure to post some of my favorites over the coming weeks. Next year I want to save all my money so I can buy all my Christmas gifts there and support local artists!

One of my favorites from yesterday was this maternity shirt from the Mutha Crafter Etsy site...

And I thought this from the same booth would be pretty funny for half of my cousins whose friends call them "Prego"...

More to come!

A dream come true...

One of my favorite websites, Apartment Therapy has just launched a D.C. site! I've been hoping they would do this for some time. Take a browse around and enjoy! If I can get the bedroom complete before October 14th, I might enter it in the Fall Colors Contest. Not because I think I could get anywhere, but just to see what would happen. It's like March Madness but with decorating! What could be better?

P.S... I finally got the bed-side tables from Ikea. They look great. I'll post the pictures asap.

Kitchen Re-model

My cousins Andrea, Jason, Riley, Preston and Princess Stella Rose (the last two are pups) just finished re-modeling their kitchen. Here are some before and afters. I think they did a really amazing job. The house originally belonged to Andrea's grandparents, so needless to say, they were anxious for a little update. I can't wait to see it in person!

Before

After

Brilliant.

New Sightings...

Rachel Ray and Mimi from Drew Carey. Nicky's on a roll!

The Rachel Zoe Project

Why oh why do I love such horrible television?

I was watching the Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo last night, and I just love it. I love her, I love her staff, and I love her husband. You couldn't script characters like this. They are a total riot. Rachel is insanely animated and fun to watch. I'm totally hooked.

About Rachel Zoe (according to wikipedia): Zoe is a graduate of George Washington University (who knew!) and is a stylist to the stars. Clients have included Cameron Diaz, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Keira Knightly, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Garner, Salma Hayek, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Debra Messing, Joy Bryant and Anne Hathaway... not too shabby.

I have to tell you that before I saw this show, all I knew of Zoe was the rumors that she pushed celebs to be super skinny and is the reason Nicole Richie became so anorexic. Zoe denies all allegations. However, just going off the show, Zoe is totally "bananas" and I love it.

The Rachel Zoe Project is on Bravo, Tuesdays at 10pm EST.

Betty

Jefe and I are sitting for Betty, our friend Becky's Jack Russell Terrier this weekend and I'm getting really excited. And there's a baby Jack Russell on Daily Puppy today too! I can't wait to spend the weekend with my favorite pup!
