I was walking past the Victory Garden behind our apartment building last night and decided to take a few photos of the flourishing community garden. It's so fun to watch the garden grow over the Spring and Summer months. Right now there are lots of green tomatoes and nice big squash. The gardens have been around since World War II when District residents were encouraged to grow their own vegetables. I love that the tradition has continued all these years!
This photo of the garden was taken with
the hipstamatic app on my phone. I thought it was especially appropriate since I'm reading a novel about the Impressionist movement.
