Oval Office Upgrade?

While the Obamas were on vacay, the Oval Office got an upgrade.

I like the new wallpaper, fabric on sofas and the coffee table. I LOVE the blue lamps and the red stripe above the wallpaper. I'm not in love with the leather chairs and wish the carpet had a little more design to it. I wish we could see the drapes on the windows behind the desk.

Overall I think it's an upgrade, but wish there was a little more color (shocking, I know). I can't imagine how difficult it must be to decorate the oval office, modernize it while still maintaining tradition and formality.

What do you think?

The Lo Down

I meant to post this a while ago. But better late than never! Lo Bosworth, everyone's favorite gal from Laguna Beach and The Hills fame has her own blog called The Lo Down and it's fantastic. Mainly, because she's fantastic. Where else am I going to learn that I need to apply a primer before foundation? ENJOY!

For Real?

All those depressing days of the 6th grade that I suffered through with my giant red plastic glasses. If only I had been born 15 years later, I would have been a star!

These glasses are: 1. On a site called 'Nasty Girl' and 2. Called the 'Foxy Mama' Glasses.

I would have been so CHIC!

Arkansas

I never thought I would say it, but this New York Times spread and accompanying article makes me want to move to Arkansas!

Willie

Because I am my father's daughter, I LOVE Willie Nelson. So much so, that my Dad and I danced to 'Blue Skies' at our wedding in May. I wonder if it would be weird to hang this print in our apartment. That's probably a good question for Jefe.

I also just found this concert poster online and love it... even though I didn't happen to see this show.

Seamstress To Be

I just signed up for sewing lessons at the local fabric store, something I have wanted to do for years! By the end of September I will have completed 'two projects that incorporate the basic skills needed to go on to more advanced sewing classes'. That's right... more classes! Drapes and duvets, here I come!

Red Eye

Love this from the New York Times.

Rotary Phones

I think I'm probably behind the curve on this one, but I find myself still wanting a vintage rotary phone. I know... soooo 2005. Maybe it's all the Mad Men I've been watching. Here are some I found online.

Etsy Profile

I was just discussing with Katie that I wish we could see one another's favorite items and shops on Etsy. DUH. You can. So now I have a public profile. You can see what I've been 'hearting' lately. Do you have a profile you want to share?
