Funny Story

So my office shares a ladies room with an organization that employees several people who are blind. One woman in particular I see in the ladies room a couple times a week. She is very nice and uses a guide dog. Of course it kills me to be around such a cute pup and not be able to interact with him, but I respect that he is working and avoid any contact. Well, except that he joins me in the stall about once a week. He is often in the next stall with his owner, but his upper body peaks in to my stall and looks up at me just like this:

It's hysterical and takes everything in me not to laugh out loud. I imagine he's thinking the same thing I am... "Man, two more hours and we're outta here!"

Shwayze

It's possible that I am a giant tool... but we already knew that. I was watching Run's House on MTV last night, one of my all-time favorite shows. A new show came on after called Shwayze. I had seen ads for it, but chalked it up to some silly new teeny bopper show, as if I'm above The Hills and the like. Anyway... I got hooked of course, and not only did I enjoy the show (keep in mind that I have very low standards), I'm kinda diggin' on their single "Buzzin". OMG

They actually don't bleed!!!!

I just bought the previously mentioned Sharpie pens and they are just as wonderful as promised! I trekked over to Staples and had to ask for them as they were behind the counter... Sudafed style. They only had black. I'm hoping to add the other colors to my collection soon, and crossing my fingers that this is just the beta release and there will be more colors to come!

Julia Allison

Have you all heard of blogger Julia Allison? I read about her on another blog and then read the cover story on her from Wired. Julia began a blog that has had many names, but lately is called www.xojulia.com (her personal page) or www.nonsociety.com (main page with other contributers). The Wired article describes how Julia has used self-promotion to become famous, something celebrities can pay top dollar to a publicist to do on their behalf. Interesting story and interesting blog. I think I'll have to add it to the blog roll.

I saw this article in the LA Times and it touched on something I had been wondering about... how the media has been treating Lindsay Lohan and her frequent companion Samantha Ronson. Fascinating.

Hallelujah! A friend at work just told me about "No See 'Ems". I have to say, it's an answer to my prayers!

Ohhhhh Nelly...

They did it. Sharpie answered all my prayers. I saw an advertisement on tv for Sharpie pens last night. Get this... they wont bleed through paper. WOOOHOOOO! They are also smear resistant, permanent on paper and water resistant. But did I mention they don't bleed through paper? I am a devoted Sharpie user and am so thankful for this recent development. It looks like there are only four colors available right now (black, blue, green and red), but let's face it, it's Sharpie, I'm sure they will have the full range in no time. Praise the Sharpie Gods! I'm off to Staples!

Chloe and Oliver

Laura and Scott were so kind to have us over to play with their new kittens last night. Chloe and Oliver are half-siblings and are about three weeks apart... they have the same father. Oliver is the eldest and is orange with a pink nose. Chloe is the 3lb cutie in white. Im obsessed. What little angels!

Oh Tracee...

... how you do disappoint. I recently posted about Tracee Dore, the Louisville native on HGTV's Design Star. I have to say that I'm not really feeling her style... or her attitude. Check out her latest design from episode 4 here. The room was supposed to be inspired by "Italy". What was she thinking? I think this room screams Miss Piggy, not the canals of Venice (the bed is intended to look like a gondola). Maybe Tracee has never been to Italy, fine. But any professional designer should be able to grasp this a little better. It's not like they asked her to design a room with a "Tajikistan" theme. Tracee... I am so over you.

Shop It To Me

DH told me about this site a few weeks ago. Shop It To Me emails you as often as you like with information on sales for sites and stores that you indicate you are interested in. I opted to receive emails twice a week and get information on shoes, clothing, departments stores and brands.
